Hard on the heels of Silcox and Webberbus, another long standing firm has entered administration in Chenery Travel in Norfolk - a NatEx contractor for over 20 years

Also Barnard's Travel in Lincolnshire last week. Both Barnard's and Silcox had connections with Island Fortitude in the past.

Was Webbers (St Austell) 2015 or 2016?

There's also another couple of small firms in the west which we may see go - not bust though, just sold off.

It was Webbers of Bodmin (formerly Blisland) not St Austell and it was done on the 5th Jan 2016

The fact is that there are any number of businesses that could be purchased or cease trading - no change there.

And they didn't go bust, but were purchased by First, as the owner was retiring.

Yeah, should've made that point too. Here's the press release...

Jeez.... the demise of so many long standing of businesses that were part of IF is terribly sad, for the employees and the numerous suppliers (creditors) that are swept up in it.

I didn't mention they went bust.

It was the end of the company though, unless of course Webbers is still registered at Companies House. If not, then I expect that falls into the definition of another firm biting the dust in 2016.

I believe that Barnard's had passed back to its previous owners, who reaquired it from Island Fortitude. Sad to hear of its demise.
