The Dutch are often perceived by foreigners to be overly blunt and they aren't afraid to give criticism. The good thing about this is that you always know what they really think, instead of having to read between the lines. It gets things out in the open and leads to a quicker resolution instead of what typically happens in Britain and other English speaking countries where problems just don't get mentioned out of a fear of offending others, until things get so bad they are much harder to resolve. This also manifests in the Dutch appearing to complain all the time. The Dutch deep down know that they are onto a good thing, but they always want things to be better. This can be observed with their obsession with cleaning and neatness and their desire for things to be in perfect geometrical shapes.
