Hey guys. Not sure if this is the right place to ask but wanted to know if there are any Penzance based GWR drivers on here?

The GWR Penzance vacancies stipulate you must live within 1 hr. How do London drivers (who live in the SE) get around this? Do HR accept the promise of relocation?

Relocation is a lot more common and accepted for Qualified drivers.

Yes, yet another TL driver wanting to join GWR

well maybe

I was asking as I wanted to know if anyone working out of Penzance would be able to let me know about the shift/link patterns as I understand some don’t involve night work (although I’m happy to do nights I know some drivers that aren’t)

there is currently a talent pool but as I want to move to Cornwall in a couple of years and eventually retire there it seemed a natural move.

Penzance do nights. Can't remember the frequency but it wasn't that often.

GWR side (when I was in resources) signed 150, 158 and 255s(short HSTs) and routes were Long Rock Depot, Penzance to Exeter, St Ives branch and Falmouth branch.

They were also due to sign 800s at some point and may have already started

Earliest start was 0500 and last back was around 0030

No worries, may be out of date but best I have access to these days!

Slightly out of date. A quick check and earliest on is actually 0420ish and last off is midnightish. One week of nights in each link

Penzance sign 08, 57, 150, 158, 255 (Castle HST) and 80x.

Routes as mentioned elsewhere are Long Rock, Penzance to Exeter SD, Falmouth and St Ives branches.

West side don't sign the 08 or the 57s

And the 80x knowledge was HSS only, unsure if West Side has started on them yet

Yes but GWR are moving away from HSS, LTV and West Side so all new crew would be on new GWR conditions which will eventually encompass all traction.

Indeed, but ex-West side still don't sign some of what HSS has retained. In the case of PNZ, that's currently 08s and 57s

HSS side don't sign the Falmouth branch either

Pretty sure west side at PZ don't do 800s yet. The majority of their work seems to be HSTs as far as I can see.

The thread for traction and routes is here for both Penzance "depots". If anyone wants to correct anything please post in that thread.
