One website claimed that First had chosen to exit Southampton by selling to the local independent operator.

Alas it wasn't true.

First Bristol announced the launch of a triple-decker bus.

Any other bus related April fools jokes?

Here's the bus board in Grimsby.
I'm sure it's a joke.
It lists the 7 running to Worksop again.

The electronic adverts on the bus shelters in Swansea were advertising "Left Guard" deodorant for left handed people.

This is must be an April Fools, apparently First Glasgow have pulled some of the new E400MMC's and are apparently on the way to ADL.

In most cities I would imagine any festivities probably involve lobbing objects at bus windows, attempting to set interiors alight, and so on...

Heard from a reliable source that most of them were pulled off the road on March 31st/April 1st due to a serious fault (which, for various reasons, can't be discussed here). Due to this, other FiG depots (Scotstoun, Blantyre etc) each loaned various vehicles of their own to help cover for the shortfall. First Scotland East's Livingston depot also loaned a Gemini (32675) to Caledonia for the interim:

Buses magazine had a spoof about a Titan being reacquired, extended, converted to triple-door and lowfloor etc.

I felt like suggesting that First were poised to take over Go North East, giving Go-ahead funds to expand operations in the south further and replace buses above 10 years old.

That's not a URL...
The link was probably broken when the text was editted.
I imagine this is the correct story:

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Here's some of the article
From 6th*April 2016, new laws require that all dogs must be microchipped, so their details can be entered into the national database.Alongside the comfort and reassurance for an owner of being reunited with their dog if it goes astray, dogs will also be able to travel on buses in an easier and more convenient way thanks to Nottingham City Transport’s new “Pound for a Hound” scheme. As increasing numbers of customers receive their upgraded Easyrider card and use the new green card readers on buses, a plug-in to the reader will be added to buses over the next week which will read dog micro-chips.Dog owners, who currently pay £1 cash for an all-day Dog Rover ticket, will need to register their micro-chipped dog with Nottingham City Transport before the end of May 2016.
