ATOC unhappy about splitting fares

Whilst 100 million combinations is a heck of a lot, if ATOC was to invest time and money it could, in theory, come up with a far more advanced ticketing computer system that could caculate the combinations and always issue the lowest possible fare for any journey as a through-fare (which would then be unchallenged by any guard). Obviously this isn't in their interest, as the idiotic comments they've made make clear.

Well no it isn't in their interests seeing as they are a trade body representing the TOCs. I think people get the impression that ATOC is an independent organisation and they play to that image when in reality they are actually a body funded by and representing the TOCs
