Hi,

I'm off to Wales next week to hunt down 153303 and 153312 - does anyone know if they are in service, and since the Fishguard service increase, which services are now booked 153 (and/or any diagrams).

Thanks

I must admit I havent been keeping track of ATW's class 153 fleet

The 06:42 Cardiff - Swansea - Carmarthen - Pemrboke Dock/Fishguard Hbr and the 09:56 Fishguard Hbr - Carmarthen services are normally worked by a pair of class 153's splitting @ Whitland although a class 153 & 150 has been used before.

A class 153 can appear on the Radyr - Coyron cityline service on the weekends and occasionally on the Ebbw Vale & Cardiff Bay lines otherwise.

05:19 Shrewsbury - Cardiff (Arr 10:17) via Heart Of Wales Line
11:14 Cardiff - Swansea (Arr 12:18)
13:10 Swansea - Cardiff (Arr 1415) or the 13:15 Swansea - Shrewsbury & 18:05 Shrewsbury - Swansea (Arr 22:05)

The 22:32 Swansea - Cardiff swanline is also another service which is booked for a class 153

Outside of school holidays, the majority of trains on the Swansea to Pembroke Dock servicesare 153's. These iseem to interwork with the Heart of Wales trains in the diagrams so that, for example, the 2345 to Fishguard (an arrival from Pembroke Dock)returns to Swansea and forms the first train to Shrewsbury at 0436.

Sometimes a 150 will turn up instead, and in holdiay periods it can be a Pacer on the Pembroke Dock trains!

I regularly use the 1735 from Swansea to Carmarthen, which is a 153 9 times out of 10, as is the 1710 stopper to Cardiff. I think most of the Swanline services are 153's, and I would say that these, the Pembroke and the HoW are the services where you are most likely to encounter a 153.
