Hi all,

Here in the UK we're lucky enough to have
Freightmaster (excellent).
Realtimetrains
Opentraintimes
etc.

Are there websites in Austria (other European countries) that have live train info like the sites above?

Especially if they list freight.

It'd been interesting to see these remotely or able to see if abroad on a phone.

Thanks in advance

ÖBB has the Lokfinder tool, where you can see the timetables of loco's which have been given a special livery. It doesn't show anything else though.

For the Netherlands there's Treinenradar, which shows the realtime positions of NS passenger trains.

Sadly we don't have anything which comes even close to the level of detail offered by RTT and OTT.

For the normal traveller those tools are not needed. They need to know whether the train is running, delayed or even not running at all.

Surely there are enthusiasts, photographers and spotters in Europe ... I see a lot of photographs from there .

Just to add that for Austria there is this http://zugradar.oebb.at/bin/help.exe/dn?tpl=livefahrplan which shows you passenger trains superimposed onto a map of the country. You can click on a train to see real-time calling pattern information.

In terms of freight and hopping to Germany (mainly) the magazine and online forum Dreshscheibe (turntable) https://www.drehscheibe-online.de/ds_redaktion/news.php offers PDF overviews of freight on particular corridors. Not sure how your German is, but it should be fairly easy to navigate. The link is to the editorial updates page and I can see for example a Maintal (Main Valley) freight overview. The forum itself is very good and has sub-forums dedicated to timetables and sightings, etc.
