Someone posted a roster on the forums a few weeks ago, not sure where it is.Anyone on here know what the links and roster is like at avanti Euston. Just looking to see what there shifts are like and rest day pattern.
Thanks in advance
And in between those 6/7 weeks they get a long weekend I believe.Be aware Euston doesn’t have a week of Rds every 5 weeks like the other west coast depots, it’s longer 6 or 7 weeks. Apparently it’s to ensure everyone gets there 104 Rds a year
Only 104 Rest days?Be aware Euston doesn’t have a week of Rds every 5 weeks like the other west coast depots, it’s longer 6 or 7 weeks. Apparently it’s to ensure everyone gets there 104 Rds a year
Only 104 Rest days?
Oh ok thanks for explaining that appreciate it. Intrigued to know how many sundays you work and how many you are committed to and roughly what the average amount of Sunday’s worked at Avanti would be over the course of a year and compare it to say South Western as they are inside the working week and see if it is roughly the same or if one is better than the other. It works out as two per week ON AVERAGE, Monday to Saturday.
Sundays are outside the working week at Avanti, so when there is a Sunday off it doesn't count as a rest day, and if rostered to work is committed overtime. There will therefore be more days off per year than 104, but also more hours worked per week on average than 35.
It's a four day week with Sundays outside the working week.
When you asked on another thread about South Western Railway at Waterloo, they have a four day week with Sundays inside the working week, so have 156 rest days per year. Sunday is a normal working day there - part of the 35 hour week and not overtime if rostered to work, and classed as a rest day if not.
Have to agree. Given the tax you're paying on an amount like that, conditions and working pattern are more important than a few thousand £ extra.Even for 67k no thanks to that roster.
