Hi. Well done for getting to this stage. I had my DMI on Monday. Which depot are you applying for?
I don’t have any tips for you. Just relax. They’re really friendly and it’s in their interest to get the best out of you.

good luck!

I also had mine on Monday, whilst I wish you and everyone else the best of luck, it would be unfair to all to give detailed information about the interview questions. I completely agree with Northernboy, just relax and let your natural personality come through, they are very friendly and not trying to catch you out with trick questions.

Good luck !

Why would it be unfair? this whole site is about helping each other to achieve a common goal if you look at many other threads people do give detailed answers of potential questions, if you dont want to give Northernboy any help maybe its because you see him as competition in which case that is hardly in keeping with the ethos of this forum.

I know I've commented on another thread - is this a prelimary interview with the 3 x recorded questions or is it a real time interview with staff from Avanti?

I was replying to the original post rather than Northernboy, who didn’t give specific advice either. I think there’s a big difference between help around the earlier stages/tests etc and a final interview. Giving specific questions asked would be unfair on everyone who has already had the interview. It’s a bit like getting the exam paper before an exam.

Mine was in August, in can't remember the questions exactly but I recall it being very similar to the interview at Watford. The staff are very friendly so just relax and don't worry about being online.

Any ideas which video conferencing platform Avanti are using at the moment for these video interviews?

I can assure you that if there are only a handful of vacancies and thousands of applicants then a "common goal" it is not. If you can get a list of questions asked from previous applicants then good for you, but anyone who gives them out after having been to an interview for themselves is a) mad and b) doing everyone else in the process who haven't given away the questions a disservice.

I do think interviewers themselves get wise to interviewees potentially being in contact with other interviewees and they can potentially change questions or their interview tactics.

I believe it has been raised on here in the past, but some TOC recruitment staff/hiring managers are aware of this site and no doubt monitor the content of threads and what is being discussed.

From taking part in interviews myself in recent times - I find the whole concept of 'fishing' for inside info very distracting and discouraging. I'd say I feel much better with an interview where I'm going into the fear of the unknown (if that makes sense!).

Just got in the talent pool for the Avanti Train Manager role at Holyhead.

My advice to anyone is have answers to questions that may cover a couple of bases and genuinly don't overthink it. My impression was that they liked to see real personality and want you to think on the fly as it were but having say, four or five broad answers that you can match onto certain questions helps.

This goes for both the video interview and certainly at the assessment stage.
