Does anyone know what's happening with 221109? Whenever I've looked on Gemini over the last few weeks it's been out of service, but no last known location shown.

It has also had Avanti vinyls since I alst saw it.

They never have had because the vehicle is too narrow to have them, and there's that stupid conduit thing in the way.

Edit: the rendering at the end does? If that's the planned Avanti interior, it looks lovely - a bit DSB IC3 like!

That's a bizarre video. Virtual reality but shows them physically making things.

I think what they've done is build a handful of the key components (like one bay worth of seats, one table, etc) and then set them up in the middle of a virtual reality carriage - that way a viewer can sit in something at least vaguely like the actual seat and get a feel for the overall ambience of the interior without them needing to actually build a complete mock-up. The better description for it would be "augmented reality".

It looks good but is it what's actually happening or just a concept to show what could happen? I notice the renders have the interiors in Angel Trains colours rather than Avanti which would suggest it's potentially just a pitch.

That's an old concept, was first published many years ago.

This one shows the same style of screen from the render fitted to a prototypical unit. It also features the same service as from the render's screens. Later on it shows Coach K from 390033, which seems to match with the 'K Bar' from the render, as normally the food area is in Coach C.
