No rebranding at Preston as of yet. On the way to Lancaster so will see there.

Display boards slightly different at Preston though as they now display "Transpennine Express only tickets not accepted" when it's an AWC train to Scotland.

I was on the 1003 on platform 2 waiting to leave when it rolled in. The rush to get the preceding LNWR unit off platform 3 was rather amusing!
LNWR, London Northwestern Railway? At Manchester Piccadilly?
You're right though, it was really crowded with everyone from train crew to cleaners, and passengers from all over trying to grab a photo.

The livery does look really good though. Really good.

Someone should put together the images of the Avanti station name signs, because I think that I am starting to see a pattern where stations between London and Birmingham use the lower side of the triangle, and other stations use the left or right side.

The triangle is the representation of the route map and it is positioned according to the geographic location of the station (bit difficult to explain but it will probably be clearer when a few photos are posted).

A few photos as passing Longsight (with a photobomb by a Class 323!).
I can't help but think the letter A by several of the doors will cause confusion with coach numbering.

390156 being named 'Pride and Prosperity' wasn't really my idea of a good name.. They could of at least but a order around the text..
I was expecting something Like 'Avanti for the Future' or something.

Never thought i would see a pendo with white doors. Looks quite nice compared to the white with green doors

Well apart from a nice shiny paint job, crap nameplate and no WiFi the jobs a good'un.

The "A" below the triangle is a terrible idea. The marketing guys must all be young pups with parents still in control of all their faculties. Try asking an 80 year old to find coach A.

I also think the removal of the yellow stripe denoting First Class was a retrograde step.

Thanks to Sentinel's post (Was just starting to wonder when the first set might appear in Macclesfield when I scrolled down to that post) I was able to nip down to Macclesfield station myself and catch 390155 on it's return to London on the 10:35 from Manchester.

In a festive update the Christmas tree in the booking office is also Avanti branded.

You wonder why the logo is a triangle of all things

I like the paint job but agree with you about the "A" on the coach sides - a bad idea for the reasons you give.

That makes more sense
Yeah, my pic was as it arrived at Picc. That's what confused me, that fact that you mentioned the 1003, which was roughly the same time this new-liveried unit arrived at Manchester.
