Was it the SRA or the NR to use more Electric trains under wires or was I day dreaming about it?

First 66 stored? Well thats thanks to EWS and there "Let's lose Contracts" policy.

Anyone else think it is a bit silly (in some ways) that the government sets the amount of rolling stock TOCs need, but then does nothing for freight. Ie, why have Freightliner buying more 66s (and GBRf and DRS) when EWS has some that aren't being used.
I'm probably missing something here - I know freight is organised very differnetly but still.

Freight Usage is on the way up, but EWS do have far too many Loco's for their own good, 250 Class 66's, 58 Class 60's, Class 37's, Class 67's, and the Electrics.

They cant find anything to do with them all, if you ask me it was only a matter of time before some 66's were stored.

Bad news about DRS returning the 87's cause they cant afford them though.

the Problem with EWS is that they over-ordered the class 66, they weren't planning on withdrawing the 58s, 56s, and 60s so early.

Im sure it will come back into service soon, it might be stored for a maintance, or something along those lines

At a guess i'd say 66521 was involved in Great Heck? What happened to the loco that rear ended at train at Bristol parkway just after Hatfield { i think it was Hatfield}, an EWS 66?

Ere, it isn't the first "operational" shed to be stored.

If you paid more attention ( ;) ), you'd know that 049 has already been stored for 6 months previously because of wheelset problems. It's EWS's worst shed. It's on the system showing as a pretty small problem, but I recon that there's a more severe problem behind it.

It was stored WNTS along with 5 60s on the 12th/13th of this month.

Good ridance to bad rubbish <D

That's not from WNXX. It's pretty much common knowledge, and I've had the TOPs report run

Surely everyone remembers the big discussions on the last time it was stored?
