It's what humans use to measure the progression of time... if we wanted to use a different method of measuring then time then people would claim that "the big bad devil" would attack them whenever that resulted in "6/6/6" being the date...

Though I did use the random number seed on my calculator today and it brought up 0.666! Though again - random.
