image.png Have just been watching the Dawlish beach webcams.
Heavy seas breaking over the tracks. XC HSTs and GWR IEPs are apparently running through but XC appears to have a problem.
An hour was lost between York and Leeds, now cancelled beyond Bristol because of weather.

Yes but was it cancelled due to the delay caused by bad weather elsewhere or damage from earlier bad weather? It should've got to Exeter either way.

Pretty bad in Devon and Cornwall this eve, traffic at a standstill on many routes and A30 closed near Oakhampton.

XC 220/221 services have been canceled between Exeter and Plymouth/Paignton since around 1200 until around 1830 this afternoon. One advantage today was that the extra HST came out on the 1225 and the one off the morning Leeds service went on the 1325. I'd imagine it terminated short to save clogging up Exeter with a spare unit (all the northbound services started at Exeter) or is part of getting the right number of trains ready for the morning at the depots.
