I was surprised to see on th eRTT log that there were no booked water stops although a few waits here and there). I assume that it was merely hauling a support coach despite the reference to 715 tonnes on Real Time Trains - presumably a Jubilee and one coach is equal to a diesel and however many coaches make up 715 tonnes acceleration terms. Is it the case that a light engine or engine and one coach would use so significantly less steam than a full length train that a tender full would last for over 12 hours/however many miles it is (its got to be more than 300) from Skipton to Alton?

Some of the longer stops would have been water stops so either Crewe and/or Rugby

I was wondering that, but not sure if there would be a water source at Crewe Platform 12 or signal RN4184 at Rugby. However on closer inspection it was pathed through Rugby to the signal, and then back into the station, so I suppose I can't think of any obvious reason for this other than to take on water.

Are there any good LEGAL sites that gives a gfood length of track in view
Horse Lane is worth a look. Coming down the A31 from Four Marks, Horse Lane is on the left, just before the end of the Dual carriageway.
