I don't think the private sector should maintain the Railways any more. Not after these things happen. Some Company Bosses cut corners on safety and out to make money. This is case proves my point... Network Rail should take over Amey etc.

By the way Network Rail is not in the private* sector, it's effectively public, and it's not for profit.

* It's counted as in the private sector when it comes to finances, this is so they can pretend that there is less public sector borrowing, but it's just a fudge.
