Barriers at Edinburgh Waverley

Have they "smartened" up the barriers at Waverley to recognise flexipass tickets. The reason I ask is that on exiting this morning it swallowed my Falkirk to Edinburgh flexiticket whereas it normally spits it back out. This makes sense as "unmarked" tickets could potentially be used for the return journey.

I have put a used one in by mistake in the past and it has opened the barrier either in or out.
