Thanks for sharing. I look forward to seeing the results of more scanning!
Me and a few mates went to crewe works on the 4th of July pretty sure it was buses, went from the entrance to the depot if my hazy memory is right.
Yes, I'd have been disappointed not to have a Roarer on a day out like that. But an NB duff at that time of year was a bonus. It's funny that in the 1980s I'd have seen that as a terrible day. ETH Duffs and 86s for the most part. Bit more interesting than the equivalent now that would be 195, 390, 350, 221, 390, 390, 350, 390, 195. Or similar.

Definitely thing about the Barrow to Euston was that almost anything could produce but sadly not that day!Yes, I'd have been disappointed not to have a Roarer on a day out like that. But an NB duff at that time of year was a bonus.
It's amazing looking back how I took loco hailed for granted.
Would love a spin nowadays behind a naff 47/4 in large logo on a normal Inter City service.
It's as if it disappeared overnight.
Great thread.
Massive long shot I know, but having spent some time entering my old haulage logs onto an excel workbook (well those that I have managed to locate!) I have found a few really annoying gaps, mainly due to poor recording on my part at the time. Therefore I wondered if anyone of my era could possibly help me fill any of these? I am looking for numbers of the loco / units that worked the following services:
22/06/1985 10:55 Taunton to Paddington – Both HST power cars
Any help on these is greatly appreciated. Many Thanks
