June 10th/11th sees the annual Festival of Transport at Barry. Apart from the normal displays of heritage road vehicles etc, this year should see a "first" with 73133 and 20228 making their debuts. Both locos, and D9521, are close to the end of overhauls and are pencilled in for running. The 73 has already moved under its own power, the 20 was running last Saturday and the 14 finally goes back together this Saturday. (Hopefully.)
The GatEx will also be running at the festival, albeit in a "mini mode". The 108, 117 (and maybe even the 115 set) of the Barry Railcar project will also be in attendance.
(Oh, and there will be steam hauled services too with an Austerity and a GWR Pannier - 6430)
All very much subject to how much work a very small band of very busy people can get finished in time. Updates and loco rosters to follow.
The HMRI have approved three train operation this year, so there will be "more movements for your money"! We're only small but we like to think we are a friendly line, with some interesting traction. If you feel like helping us at all and spending some time at the seaside, don't forget our New Volunteers Day on May 27th.
