This is slightly wrong. Sunday's are already inside the working week, no such thing as night pay or Sunday pay (driving grade, can't comment on other grades). Base salary is slightly higher on what you say.
So drivers aren't getting Sunday pay? But then what was april the 4th all about. The 74k I assume you mean about base I'm sure was after x amount of year/years qualified

That’s interesting. Several posters on here assured the forum that such a deal would never be offered again!
AIUI there was restrictions in the agreement, which is why it got voted down.

Have no idea what you're talking about? Never have got Sunday pay. It's an average 4 day week, with Sunday's inside. Basic is just over £69k. You get that after being qualified for a year.

Where sundays are inside the week, that just means it’s a normal working day, with no extra pay entitlement.

Where Sundays are outside it’s common for there to be an enhanced rate of pay for working them to reflect the fact that they are overtime.

Committed Sundays (ie it’s outside the normal week, but you are committed to working say one per month, unless you can find cover) are, in effect, forced overtime and it’s common for an overtime rate to apply to these also.

Oh OK I see. Thanks for the clarification.

And just to expand on this, those with Sundays inside normally got an uplift accordingly when it was agreed.

We had a thread about these distinctions - as they can exist within TOCs too - before

I take it that's the result of them originally deciding to have each depot sign one route (or part of a route) and mainly one, at most two, types of traction?
Yes, I believe that’s the case. Think it’s mainly for the TPE south services over the Hope Valley and to get crew up to speed.

A lot of common issues between the First Group TOC’s, which points clearly at the current bad management.

Where I am is Sunday's inside and I don't think I'd give that up. I love a 4 day working week. Sunday's, although extra pay, are still extra time at work. Sod that.
I'm the same as you and actually prefer Sundays inside, with the 4 day working week...Plus it's all pensionable......As you say, it's extra days you have to come in for.
