Hello all, Although I can't say this is a certain journey, I would like to travel up to Colwyn Bay before long, and certainly before Christmas so in the current NFM period. With a YP the basic SVR is £54. Using the various tricks I have learned and what have you, I know I can get it below £50, but I wondered if anyone else might be able to help? Realistically a day return is unlikely owing to the distance and likely difficulty in getting up there; it isn't exactly direct! Thanking you all in advance N.B.: Please do not give any answers involving AP tickets. I know that APs from Bristol can be as little as £11.20 to Colwyn Bay.
Go by bus to Newport for £48.85! Not much better than that though (and the bus times to Newport are lousy)...
Although not the cheapest how about a Bath - Newport SOR £11-90 plus an Explore Wales Rover £56 (with r/c) which gives 4 in 8 days rail travel and 8 days bus travel in all of Wales? http://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/explore-wales-pass/
Sounds like a decent enough idea, so thank you. Although, if I did, I would probably make my way to Newport by bus. No sense paying £11 for that unnecessarily if I can't afford to
£49.80 is what I get, all on the rails. If you want to know about it, I'll PM you the details. (Not suitable for public disclosure unfortunately.)
