Do any trains still use the old Eurostar flyover near Battersea? I go past often on the journey between Waterloo and Wimbledon and would be interested to know

The short answer is No, nothing does. I'm not sure anything has since the switch to St. Pancras, possibly the odd railtour.
The fact that it's there does restrict capacity into that side of Waterloo, there's been various suggestions that it should be demolished to allow the extra track into Waterloo to be reinstated. Actually doing so is another matter though.

I'm not sure if the 750v DC traction current is even energised on the flyover. Whenever I've passed the screen with the live signalling diagram at Waterloo (by the P19 barriers), the flyover berth is shown occupied as NO DC.

This link has the diagram.

Indeed. Did it on an EPB in around 1990 and a thumper two years ago.

I may be wrong, but pretty sure it wasn't built in 1990. I left that part of the world in 1992 and don't think it was finished then. 1993?

I was on a railtour which went over the flyover in November 2014, so it's had relatively recent use.

Does there have to be some kind of parliamentary service to keep the thing open? Or do test trains suffice?

Hopefully not, because we really need demolition, while it stands people will only see it as a route for fantasy XC routes... :D

At a guess, a 'Parliamentary' service is required to prevent having to go through the closure procedures but as the flyover never carried scheduled domestic services, there was no requirement for this legal procedure as there was no service to withdraw. Presumably there was a procedure for Eurostar services being withdrawn, but the equivalent of a parliamentary service would involve one service a week running to Waterloo instead of St. Pancras, with all the security being retained for that one service!
