Hi all

A relation needs to travel on 7th July 2016 from Battle to Northwich arriving no later than 1230, returning after 1530 to attend an interview. 1 adult, no railcard.

I can see a £104.40 SVR using the 0940 from Euston arriving at 1230 but could do with lowering that price if possible ?

Using the 0920 from Euston via Stockport for a 1214 arrival would be ideal but not at £405 !!!

Thanks in anticipation.

Splitting at Robertsbridge will give you a very small saving and get the fare down to £102.50 but other than that for the times you've quoted Trainsplit doesn't offer much.

A slightly cheaper option is to travel to Hartford, which is 2 miles from the centre of Northwich. A 12.12 arrival is possible via Crewe on the 10.10 from Euston. Through offpeak fare £94.50.

I imagine there are taxis for the last bit, but there's only an hourly bus.

It would be worth checking the exact address as Northwich is a fair sized town.

If the OP's relative doesn't mind slower trains/longer journeys, and is happy with the suggestion to go to Hartford rather than Northwich, the following might be an option:

Battle-London £50.70 anytime day return + two £2.40 tube singles on oyster/contactless

or: Battle-London £56.30 anytime day travelcard

travelling on Battle 0534-London Charing X 0659

London Euston-Crewe £9 Advance departing 0746 & arriving 1024

Crewe-Hartford £5.10 day return

Crewe 1057-Hartford 1111 (The No.82 bus into Northwich departs Hartford station at 1130 or 1200)

Hartford 1536/1602/1636-Crewe 1546/1617/1646

Crewe-Euston £9 Advance departing 1702 & arriving 1950

Total: from £78.60 plus Hartford-Northwich-Hartford by bus/taxi

The 82 bus route between Hartford station and Northwich is half-hourly: http://www.traveline-northwest.co.uk/timetableplanner/toggleMainStops.do?hss=GDCPG470606865

You could also walk 1 of the 2 miles to Greenbank Hotel, from where there's an additional bus every 20 minutes in to Northwich: https://www.arrivabus.co.uk/GetTime...8795-116645980357&id=31736&date=160124-160928

Yes. If it's a job with The Hut Group or Barclays at Gadbrook Park then it's 1.5 miles from Northwich station or 2 miles from the town centre - in the opposite direction to Hartford station. If it's a job with Holidaybreak then it's walking distance from Hartford or Greenbank stations.
