The man, who is believed to be in his 30s, was taken to Fairfield General Hospital with multiple, serious fractures to both legs.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Happens in Nottingham too (or has twice). People cross the street right in front of trams, ignoring warning signs, and don't have chance to get onto the platform at the stop before the tram pulls into it.

Manchester I can see it being more worrying...a high floor platform will do damage to more of you than a low floor one.

Regards

Dave
