Best Lense For Nikon D3300

Hiya All, I'm new here.

I Bought a Nikon D3300 About 2-3 Years ago and the VR Lens that came with it has broken.

Is there any chance of a good alternative for railway Photography? As I'm on a tight budget.

Check the CEX shops, I picked up a second hand Nikon lens for £80.
