Used these today to go to Brum proper (with an Anytime Day Return tagged on) saving about £25 overall on an Anytime Return for the whole thing, staff all knew what they were.
Must admit to being surprised you don't need to prove you have a flight or NEC event booked in order to avoid people doing that
