I am planning to make a trip involving:
- Travelling from LDS to BHM on existing tickets via SOT.
- Travelling from BHM to BRI
- A few days later, returning from BRI to LDS.
One possibility is to make a return trip between BHM and BRI using this ticketing combination (all with railcards):
BHM-CDU 14.70 SVR
CDU-BRI 2x4.10 = 8.20 CDS
=22.90
CDU = Cam and Dursley - requiring taking the local, which is fine with me.
...and then returning between BHM and CDU on AP tix or a coach, though I'd rather not do either thing if possible.
Therefore, I'd like help on one of two things:
- Travelling most cheaply from BHM to LDS on walk-up singles;
- Travelling most cheaply for my BHM-BRI-LDS trip, potentially including return tickets the outward portion of which I don't use north of BHM.
One potentially useful ticket is the SVR between Derby or Duffield and CDU, which is £26.15; an additional £11.45. I don't know if this can fit into a beneficial set of split tickets, though.
EDIT: I am open to returning via Manchester, or other unorthodox routes.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
