It’ll be interesting to see what happens for the rest of it in regards to what traction they provide.37419 in trouble on this, been taken off at Kirkby Thore. 2 66 s attached at Carlisle as well as 37423 already being on it!
...and to let the service trains get past. 2H93 1450 Carlisle to Leeds terminated 108 minutes late at Skipton with 2H95 1618 Carlisle to Leeds 24 minutes late behind. It went in at Blea Moor due to further problems. Looks to be moving again now.
That was 37423 being dropped off. We are now making our way into Wakefield Europort.Looks like they’ve lost a locomotive in Wakefield Kirkgate GL:
Realtime Trains - 091I 2045 Wakefield Kirkgate Gd Loop to Knottingley T.M.D.

The 66s had been on the train since Edinburgh and were booked to remain attached all day (just as well in the circumstances!)37419 in trouble on this, been taken off at Kirkby Thore. 2 66 s attached at Carlisle as well as 37423 already being on it!
The 66s collected the SRPS coaches from Bo'ness yesterday. The 66s had been on the train since Edinburgh and were booked to remain attached all day (just as well in the circumstances!)
Train was actually booked into Blea Moor loop (as you would expect with the Branch Line Society ). Once we'd gone in there, it was wasn't a surprise when the delayed service trains went first. It went in at Blea Moor due to further problems. Looks to be moving again now.
Ah cheersThe 66s had been on the train since Edinburgh and were booked to remain attached all day (just as well in the circumstances!)
Ah cheers
More issues this morning driver didnt have route knowledge around Worksop route..you’d have thought they may have known that before leaving Doncaster…so it had to go back from Retford to Doncaster to reach Sheffield
They did, but meant it still covered Ranskill Loop presumably ?
I would have thought that the crossover covered by the reversal at Thrumpton West Junction was also quite desirable.Presumably that's why then, and not an act of incompetence as was made out by the poster
Is the goal here just to run over bits of the network that never normally see passenger trains?I would have thought that the crossover covered by the reversal at Thrumpton West Junction was also quite desirable.
At the very basic level, yes to be able to 'colour in' parts of the railway network that can't be covered with service trains at either a high level (routes into freight terminals) or a more detailed level (crossovers and loops not normally available). At the most detailed level, even directionality of the use of a piece of track comes into consideration. Is the goal here just to run over bits of the network that never normally see passenger trains?

Thanks for the explanation! I'm booked onto an SRPS tour in August partly because it goes along the north Forth coast through Culross and the like. I didn't realise there was potentially more 'sport' to this sort of thing. At the very basic level, yes to be able to 'colour in' parts of the railway network that can't be covered with service trains at either a high level (routes into freight terminals) or a more detailed level (crossovers and loops not normally available). It was posted elsewhere that the site owner couldn't accommodate the tour due to an increase in workload and train movements.Does anyone know why today’s leg no longer includes Tunstead or the reversal into Earles Sidings.
