Was wondering how many breweries one could visit by rail in a day ?
There is Batemans's close to Wainfleet.
(I eventually made it there - ironically by road and had a rather nice pint of 'chocolate digestive biscuit' ale)
Can't think of many as close to a station as Bateman's but am sure there must be.

I think is may be a case of not how many you can visit in a day, but how many you can remember visiting in a day. :D

Timothy Taylor is not too far from Keighley station. Cameron can't be too far from Hartlepool. Fullers must be close to a station. Charles Wells is close to Bedford station. Castle Rock is across the road from Nottingham station. There are several breweries close to Burton station. Banks's is not far from Wolverhampton station.

Abroad, Augustiner, loewenbrau and spaten/franziskaner are all near s-hackerbruecke in Munich.

Local ones near stations, off the top of my head, there's probably more in Sheffield;
Doncaster Brewery in Doncaster
York Brewery in York
Concertina & Imperial near Mexborough
Kelham Island, Abbeydale, Little Ale Cart - Sheffield
Acorn - Wombwell
Leeds Brewery - Leeds

Chimp choking filth ;)

IRC they have closed the central Hartlepooh site and moved production to the former Castle Eden brewery ( or is it the other way around?) which is some distance from a station but adjacent to a former line

The Ludlow Brewery is located in an old goods or loco shed right next to Ludlow railway station. You have to pass the door of the place to get from the station to the town centre.

Their shop is open from 10.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday and Saturdays 10.00 to 13.00, and brewery tours by arrangement.

You can see the Brains brewery in Cardiff from Central station but they don't do tours.
York brewery and visitor centre is just round the corner from York station.
Wells and Young looks like it's pretty close to Bedford station.

Harveys Brewery, Lewes East Sussex about a mile from the Station,
http://www.harveys.org.uk/ for details. Just thinking aside, if you widen this thread into former breweries near stations, you couldn't have got much closer than the old Eldridge Pope brewery in Dorchester, it was just across the road from Dorchester South station.

Zero Degrees have a brewery/restaurant serving pretty good Pizza (amongst other things) opposite the Arms Park entrance.

. Fullers must be close to a station. .

.

Fullers is a bit of trek from the station (already done that tour - there is the famoues 'two' pub brewery tap).

I forgot Grainstore at Oakham - though the locals in the bar there never seem too friendly.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Batemans' (Wainfleet), Oakham (Peterbrough), Grainstore (Oakham), Everard's (Narborough) - is a possible run. Brewery Opening times are limited though so probbaly not possible in a day.

Skinners is probably a half hour walk from Truro to the other side of town. Well worth the visit and tour
basically they rush you round the tour so you can have your free pint samples in the bar area and have as.much as you like!!!! Terrific stuff too - such a shame the Mrs was pregnant at the time so had to drive.
