Went up to Lancaster today and I noticed there is a load of scaffolding on the old road bridge at the north end of the station, along with several storage containers. Does anyone have details of what they are doing?

I believe the bridge is receiving a new layer of paint and according to the sign near the contractor containers, "essential bridge structural repairs". I am sure others on here will be able to provide you with more information and specifics.

You are correct, the bridge is getting a new splash of paint added to it. The gate at the top of prisoners walk was closed for a short period of time for safety reasons, much to the dismay of the locals <D
