part one - Brierley Hill to blowers green tunnel

both centro and London midland wish to open the south staffs railway line again , see links below.

journeys starting point is just outside brierley hill just a short distance from the "blue brick pub" A41 Dudley rd

from a foot bridge looking towards Stourbridge ,its plane to see that the section from Stourbridge to the tata steel plant sees daily use of freight trains using class 60/66 locos
from the same bridge looking towards wednesbury
the bridge in the distance has the "blue brick pub " next to it
taken from the A41 Dudley road the tata distribution can be seen with 66192 doing the shunting
due TATA network rail section being off limits the next photo is about 1/4 mile further along taken from A4036 Pedmore road looking back towards stourbridge the line is the end of the TATA plant.
this view also looking towards Stourbridge is taken from below the road bridge , im standing on the track bed .

180 dedree turn around , we are now facing towards wednesbury.
From now on all PHOTOS WILL be looking towards wednesbury
one of the biggest problems both in cost and scale is just behind the trees in front ! notice Dudley church in the left corner of the photo.

just beyond the road bridge was blowers green station , closed in 1962 the booking office is still standing !!
and to my right there was a line coming in from old hill

Dudley to dudley port
bursting out of dudley tunnel after the climb from brierley hill in to a deep damp cutting. (very damp)
a look back at the tunnel portal
onward to dudley port
to the left one of dudleys signal boxes stood , with a view of both the tunnel and station it is noticeable in one of the B/W photos
this would of been a main view of the station , but nothing remains at all !

im standing in what would of been the right hand track in the last bw photo.
to the left of the above photo was another signal box

the road bridge is the A4037 tipton road , the black country living museum is just a short 5 mins walk away ,so there will be a Lm station or a midland metro stop here some were ?

the site of were there was a road over bridge
this is were the line goes over the ( birmingham new road A4123 )

you can see the incline , left to dudley , i remember watching class 56 freight really work hard up this line in the 80s 90s with heavy freights should fly up it !

the next section is a little water logged so the next 1/4 mile to great bridge is photos taken from bridges .

this view is looking towards wednesbury in the distance is the black country new road A41
this view is looking towards wednesbury and is the ( B4517 new road ) in great bridge .

this bridge crosses over the cannel
i think some were at this point the rails turned left to join on at swan village ( black lake )

here there was a level crossing with ( bagnall st ) crossing the rails .
to the right about 1/4 mile away is the midland metro also crossing the cannel , birmingham is to the right
note the two old and the new-ish styles of rails
to the left is the back of the new tram depot
in the distance is the midland metro line crossing over our line
just the other side of the bridge across the road is were wednesbury station was.

wednesbury to walsall
wednesbury station.
continuing on from the last but one photo were the midland metro crossed above us there is a steel fence and just the other side of this is potters lane . here there was a railway crossing and here also stood wednesbury railway station all that is left of it now is platform one .
remains of wednesbury station , this platform is were you would catch trains
to walsall and the north
just of the end of the platform is what seems to be were the water crane to fill the loco tender may have been
leaving wednesbury this part of the line was the most ov4ergrown i had come across on the whole line

a nice litte foot bridge , near to pound road

brunswick park road with the railway running just behind

it is at this point you can see part of one end of this line Bescot/ BS
its over to the far right hand side
at this point we cross over st pauls road
the next bridge is new bridge which does not seem to have a name yet
at this point the rail wat crosses over the railway line from bescot to wolverhampton which is used by freight trains

BEFORE ANY ONE FROM NETWORK starts moaning at this point
i did go through any hole / or go over fence i just walked on . there was no way of stopping anyone from walking on there its just wide open for anyone to walk on . so you may want to think about seeing to that !
at this point the rails used to turn right and make a right hand curve to join the main line under the m6 moterway just short of bescot yards
the old line turning right to join on at bescot

looking from bescot the old line leaving to the left then swings round left to join the line to stourbridge
from here under the bridge new track has been laid in the direction to walsall
this now joins on to the main line to walsall thus there is now a conection
to part of this old line for the first time since 1993 . this now brings the Possibility of further work going south to stourbridge .

the line from stourbridge now joins the main line at pleck jnction
the freight train on the left is coming from bescot and will pass through walsall
