Was at Wells Bus station today and the timetable stuck in the bus shelter just had MCT services to Wedmore and Wookey Hole. Are there connections to Burnham? (And if so, how about advertising them?!)

There are connections to Burnham. The timetable in the bus station should be making this clear.

MCT provide a service from Wookey Hole to Wells and Wells to Wedmore. Crosville then provide the connecting service onto Burnham from Wedmore. The connection is only 3 times a day (off peak) and only on Monday to Fridays.

Odd they are still employing drivers for Megabus based in Cwmbran.

Most of the drivers have jumped ship. They were told beggining of this month .Management were asked and denied it .Then drivers quit in droves. They have drivers from all over the country on loan. They will struggle to cover all the duties this week more are leaving.SGBC are even doing some of the runs

Some examples of the wages

New Adventure Newport £8.20 an hour
Stagecoach Cwmbran £9
Newport Transport £9
Stagecoach South Glos £11
First Bristol £11.47

Edward of Llantrisant are also recruiting for NAT Express work but no wages indicated on their website.

I think you will find that is a complete falsehood, and that drivers were informed as soon as the local depot was informed.

You can't expect proper publicity from a sham charity outfit like MCT. Just like you can't expect accessible vehicles, drivers with appropriate qualifications, fair tendering...

Could it be that only some of the work is moving to Bristol and that if more drivers have quit than work lost, they'll be a shortfall?

"As a PCV Driver you will mainly be required to operate the company's Megabus services out of our Cwmbran depot. The main network is Cardiff-Bristol-London, but we also currently serve Birmingham, Pembroke Dock, Swansea and Carmarthen. "

"Permanent full time contract"

So drivers to do the Birmingham, Pembroke Dock, Swansea and Carmarthen work?

Away from Megabus/SGBC, was driving over Dundry today and a rather unfortunate place for Abus Solo Y555AJP to break down, just below the Carpenters. Driver had laid cones out to warn and was also directing traffic!!

I've been visiting Nether Stowey today, which gave me the opportunity to sample the SPS Bridgwater-Minehead service. They were using three Dartss, SN65 OHD/E/G, which carry fleet numbers 632/3/1 respectively. SN65 OHD at least carries FSW legals, but I believe the buses belong to Crosville? Can anyone please clarify how the SPS set-up actually works, i.e. licence, vehicle ownership, etc? Thanks.
The official Crosville fleetlist gives the trio as OHC/D/E, but looking at my photo 631 definitely carries SN65 OHG. Both exist, being part of a batch delivered to Britannia Parking at Hurn Airport

Part of the Bristol City Council tendering changes. CT+ take it over as two separate services, both numbered 506. The Spike Island end of it will be withdrawn as soon as Metrobus comes online.

Went to Yate Bus Station this afternoon to see Severnside Transport's last workings on the 622 but they didn't appear to turn up.

There's also nothing on the Eurotaxis website regarding their new bus services. Does anyone have any idea if they have acquired any new vehicles for them yet?

Just been passed by a B9 on the A4 with a full size rear advert. The advert covered the rear destination display, is that allowed?

I suspect it falls foul of the regulations, whereas it's perfectly legal to cover all the side windows with contravision so the passengers cant see out and nobody cares!

Saw a Severnside Solo being towed by the Eurotaxis wrecker mid afternoon yesterday, looked to be parked up on the near side of the carriageway next to the Costa drive thru coming from Cribbs.

Standard Evening Post 'quality'! Nothing extra is being provided and it's all being paid for by councils which doesn't get mentioned. Little more than an advert for Stagecoach!

Absolutely, a total puff piece. The 77 will now be hourly....as it was yesterday! No journalism to be seen here; just regurgitating a press release. The ONLY new link is the 615 being incorporated and that is just serendipitous rather than meeting some great need!

The same quality Trinity Mirror garbage that provided timetables yesterday for 'all the changes on 3rd September' which included links to the 18/18A and 38 timetables which will no longer run!

I would quote the article but it's a waste of forum space but here's the link if anyone's interested http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/bus-service-changes-new-timetables-412658

Yeah, the Post is a waste of time. It's gone beyond parody!

Of more relevance, have we any news/confirmation of any vehicle IDs for Stagecoach, CT and of the Wessex fleet for the 10/11 (and any First reallocations/dispositions on that thread)?

CT Plus have a few 17 standard E200s for the 506, Ex London dual door 11 plate E200a for the 506 and some 17 plate Sprinters for the other stuff. Stagecoach have 13 buses out of SGB, 4 x 57 plate Solos and the rest 13 plate E200s.

The 680 from Eurotaxis had a full sized coach on it this morning although the driver suggested that he was only doing the route today so maybe any new low floor buses will be used tomorrow.

Probably good job it did as it picked up a number at Yate Station who presumably turned up to find there were no trains. Meanwhile one of SGBCs levantes and an Eagle Coaches vehicle alongside a 1/2 branded decker and a 17 branded decker were on rail replacement.

Also saw an 11A in Downend which had a red and silver dart on it.

Somewhere you won't find me

An acquaintance who was talking to a Severnside driver on Friday told me that he was told that many of their vehicles are in poor condition. Apparently on Friday a 622 journey had to be curtailed due to a faulty handbrake.

Eurotaxis had their very clean and shiny MX55HXY, a 24-seat minibus on today's 202.
