Broad Street

Finsbury Park-Broad Street. That must have been via Dalston. Did the NLL passenger service exist then? As it would have conflicted with them at flat junctions.

Was the diversion of these services into Moorgate partly the reason for Broad Street closing?

Or was it the other way round, Broad St closing meant they had to find an alternative?

I believe the NLL service did exist then, but most of the photographic material I have would suggest that only a Richmond-Broad Street service ran. Services to the East would have started from Broad Street IIRC.

As for your other question, I'm not entirely sure. It may have been the former, i.e. diversions to Moorgate caused closure.

No, Broad Street was neglected after the war in favour of Liverpool Street. When it came to the end, it was only getting a 313 in the morning and evening, on it's one surviving platform. It's services had pretty much all been transferred to Liverpool Street as a better location by the 1980s.
