Just a quick question - when travelling on SNCB, how far away from Brussels Zuid/Centraal/Noord can you travel on a Jump/Discover Brussels ticket? The interactive map I've found on the STIB website seems to suggest that Vorst-Zuid is the limit heading south, it also shows Ruisbroek although that's marked in red, which suggests to me that it's outside of zones. Again, heading north-east, Haren-Zuid is shown as being the last station marked normally, with Diegen also shown on the map but in red.

The map in question can be found on this page: http://www.mivb.be/netplan-plan-reseau.html?l=en

Any ideas?

Looks like I was right then, as neither Diegen or Ruisbroek are shown in those lists. Thanks :)

Sorry to hijack this thread somewhat but Im planning on taking Miss Clip to Brussels for her birthday and was just wondering about using the Metro system over there and any tips available so I can plan to go somewhere which will enable me to go on the various forms of rail transport without her thinking its because I want to ride them, if you get my meaning.

cheers

You could visit the Atomium: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atomium

From Midi/Zuid you could take Premetro line 3 north to Van Praet, changing onto Premetro line 7 to Heysel, the nearest stop. On the way back down you could take Metro line 6 directly from Heysel. That lets you sample trams both underground and on streets, as well as the metro, without taking a stupidly indirect route or ending up in the middle of nowhere.

Excellent. That sounds a plan, thanks very much.
