With some buses that move between areas only being used on school routes in the new area, in particular, do many buses retain blinds that have a completely useless of destinations for their current operator other than a few generic ones like 'School Service' or 'Special Service'.

First Hants & Dorset have a number of ex London Dart/Marshalls based in Portsmouth, some of which retain Uxbridge area blinds on the side and rear screens, which were never replaced on reallocation as only the front screens are used. There a fair few of these old barges floating around various First UK fleets, so I'd imagine it's fairly common to have redundant blinds. Link below is a side blind on Hilsea depot's 41646:

Slightly on topic, there have been examples in the Fife division of Stagecoach East scotland, where a double decker has moved from one depot to another, and wher eit has a separate programmable line for intermediate points, has resulted in only the destinations being updated at first. This has led to some interesting displays, such as a transfer from Aberhill to Dunfermline in 2009 reading on route 7 one day "Dunfermline - 7 via Dunfermline".

Similar things used to happen with Dublin Bus, on roller blinds, where buses were moved from one depot to another, and only the destination blind got replaced at first, the intermediates getting replaced later. Led to things like "An Lar; City Centre - 46A, via An Lar"
