Consider the following scenario:
You live in Uttoxeter (UTT) and wish to travel to Loughborough (LBO) today and return in a few day's time. The only direct tickets available are SDR Anytime Day Return and SDS Anytime Day Single. So, in theory one would have to purchase a separate SDS each way (=£25.40).
However, one could in theory purchase an SVR Off-Peak Return from Stoke-On-Trent (SOT) to LBO for £20.50, and start late at UTT.
My question though, is, since there is no ticket office or ticket machines at UTT, would the guard be happy to sell you a ticket from SOT to LBO, or would he insist on you having a ticket starting at UTT?
