5712+5551+5516 made an additional passenger working this morning as T177 Parsons Green-Barking for a training exercise. Will return later today.

I was told by a member of staff these are allocated to r/n 72,73,74 and 76

There were C stock trains on these workings Easter Sunday. 74 was diverted to Mansion House due to a signal failure at Earls Court, possibly the last ever C stock working on that section?

6 C Stock running Wimbledon-Edgware Rd today on the reduced 15min service, no S7s.

I was just about to post this! The sets in use were as follows:

71: 5733-5550-5594
72: 5522-5555-5549
73: 5726-5552-5720
74: 5721-5531-5578
75: 5533-5517-5592
76: 5712-5551-5516

Spent the day filming & photographing them, so I was pleased to see a healthy complement out - including the elusive (for me) 5555.

How long will it be before tickets go on sale for the C stock tour on 29th June (I do check the LTM website every day)?

It's still around two months away; going off previous trips I doubt they'll be on sale before the end of May. It will certainly be announced in several places a couple of days beforehand though.

Thanks, just wanted to make sure that I haven't missed it.

No worries, that's understandable. The LTM website though is still advertising the C Stock Explorer!
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Seven sets working the Edgware Road-Wimbledon trains today, supplemented by one S7. I'm told that there was an incident with the S7s last week, triggering the use of more C stock, but I don't know (or want to know) details. Either way, it gives eight sets for eight workings!

70: 5578-5531-5721
71: 5516-5551-5712
72: 5733-5550-5594
73: 5549-5555-5522
74: 5726-5552-5720
76: 5529-5524-5545
77: 5592-5517-5533

Train 75 was worked by the S7. 5596+5560+5727 (or 'the railtour train') was the one not in service, and from my observations hasn't been in service for at least a week now.

Indeed, this did see the use of more of the 8 C Stock trains available until the situation was resolved on 10 May.

I'm told that there was an incident with the S7s last week, triggering the use of more C stock, but I don't know (or want to know) details.

Now in the public domain thanks to the BBC.

An investigation is under way after two of London Underground's (LU) new trains collided when the tracks moved.

The collision happened on the District Line between East Putney and Southfields stations and caused minor damage to carriages.

Manager Kevin Bootle said the two trains had been temporarily withdrawn from service during investigations.

A transport union said the incident highlighted "cuts to track inspections and maintenance."

'No issues found'
Mr Bootle, who is LU's District Line manager, said there were no injuries in the collision on 1 May, which was caused because of a "very slight movement of the tracks."

"The safety of our customers and staff is our top priority and we apologise for the limited disruption this may have caused," he said.

In a letter to staff he said: "LU engineers are now working to modify the track to ensure that this incident is not repeated.

"As a precaution other areas on the branch were checked with no other issues found."

I did hear that the issue was not really related to S7 stock specifically, which possibly explains why C stock was withdrawn for a while when this happened...

I think C and S Stocks are wider than D Stock, I remember one day in September 2012 they had another clearance issue in the same area which resulted in C Stocks being diverted to the Ealing Broadway/Richmond services with D Stocks still running, although on a lower frequency as minor delays were advertised (quite a surprise when one turned up at Barons Court westbound with another nearby in the opposite direction!)

I'm surprised this hasn't happened before tbh with any other trains. There are plenty of other sections of railway where if you pass a train it looks like it's just missing you. In fact, leaving Kings Cross on a HST a MK4 was pulling in next to us and was so close another 1inch and they would have likely been touching

The engineers will be getting a serious bollocking though for it!

East Putney junction seems to have a problem with track slipping, its happened a couple of times now in the last year or so. I hope they fix it properly, if it happens again once the d stock are gone, there'll be no service on the Wimbledon branch

Two C Stock trains now scheduled for removal to Neasden/Northwood next week, and four the week after. District trains 72, 73 and 76 should be S Stock from 3rd June.

I thought train 74 was also going to S stock, or is it going to be a C stock hold-out for a bit yet?

You're quite right - T74 to swap over to S Stock during the traffic day on 3rd June, although it will run as T161 for the remainder of the day once the swap has occurred.

On the Remaining C Stock Diagrams topic it says tickets are on sale for the 29th of June tour but when I click the link it says they will be on sale from Monday, which one is right? The Remaining C Stock Diagrams topic also says the tour starts from Hammersmith but the LTM website says it starts from Moorgate again which one is right?
