Won’t be any PNB’s in the jobs as they are less than 6hrs in turn length. No London weighting on top of the salary as it got included in salary as part of a pay deal years ago. Some weeks will be 5 days a week as well others 3 or 4 as it’s an average 4 days a week. Average 20hrs a week.Only 5 hours driving a day by the time you talke into account your pnb and turn around time plus free travel and private for family and holidays works out at just over 3 hrs work a day for 35 k plus london waiting that's not bad. Cant please all the people all of the time .
Nothing about being in the real world.
If you are a driver and want PART TIME why would you go and work 4 days a week.
Aslefs main aim is a 4 day week for drivers
Why would you work the SAME AMOUNT of days as a full time driver, this seems like a back door way for c2c to get peak time trains in without employing full time drivers and I'm surprised aslef are condoning it, fair enough part time for internals or job share but externals.
Let's see how many qualified's apply for it before we start congratulating c2c on a great opportunity.
No-one is forced to apply. It won't suit everyone but it will suit some people. It is completely normal that "part-time" can mean either fewer days a week than normal, or shorter shifts than normal, or both.

Because it's something that may suit someone else other than yourself! I know plenty that say if you're in the 4 day week at such and such a TOC why would you go to the 5 day week at virgin!?
Because it's their life and it's their choice. Quite simple really.
People go virgin because it's virgin, I very much doubt the appeal of driving to purfleet and grays every day is the same as the pull of a 5 day week on virgin driving high speed stuff.
Like I said, let's see how many qualified's they will get go to East Ham depot for this number.
part time or reduced hours doesn't always have to mean condensing days, I know of several drivers who's reduced hours agreement means they work the same amount of days as full time, but on much shorter, specific jobs. I'd also suspect ASLEF would be in favour of this, as it creates greater flexibility for those who might require it, such as older drivers or single parents etc.
I'd also say the majority of drivers are really not interested in changing TOCs just for the perceived prestige of the service. Most people work for the TOC which is local to them, and most people remain there. From what I hear its a nice little number over on the LTS, short and simple route, similar traction and a decent atmosphere.
moan moan moan moan if you dont like it just leave and do something else
Who said anything about train driving being bad or moaning about the job you are making out like if qualifieds don't go for this they will be forced to go shelf stacking.
People may well go against the grain but for part time this is a poor opportunity when you are doing the same amount of days as a full time driver it.
Once again..... because it's poor in your eyes doesn't make it poor.
No one has said anything like drivers would go shelf stacking......it's you that's boxed things and made out people would be mental to go for it just because it's not your cup of tea.
It's poor as a part time option fact.
Where in the real world would someone go from working 5/6/7 days a week to 5/6/7 days a week and call it part time.
If it was such a good shout then why are c2c having to recruit externally for it because I know if they brought in "proper flexi or part time working at any other toc it would be over subscribed.
The early morning part time jobs start from 04:30 in the morning at East Ham and 05:00 from Shoeburyness.Would suit me too. Peak hours only, no early earlies, no late lates, no nights, no weekends. If my TOC offered a link doing that 4 days a week pro rata I'd snap it up. I don't live close enough to the C2C route to make it feasible but I think this is a decent deal. Anyone who thinks I'm nuts is welcome to all my antisocial shifts.

Once again..... because you say the word fact doesn't mean that it actually is one. For some reason in YOUR paradise it's a poor option but the people on this thread alone have blown your " argument" to pieces.
Absolute nonsense.......we have part time/flexi at our place and it's far from over subscribed.......why externally? Maybe they've got a workforce quite young in their careers who don't seem it as an option? There could be many reasons!.....one of which being legally they may have to?
The fact you had to even ask shows that you've not don much research on it....you've just come here with sensationalist claims and negatives.
