Have you ever been stood on a platform got chatty with the driver then next thing he lets you cab it.
(not including open days)

My list so far:

A voyager at Edinburgh
a steamer at Scarborough

Thats all I remember plus loads in the DRS depot at Kingmoor(my neibhbour used to work there and lets us go around!!

i was in the cab of the Virgin Pendolino at Railfest the other year... but it wasnt in the cab that was open...
i got chatting with one of Virgins drivers and an alstom fitter that was with the unit.. and they took me and a mate down to the other end.. (the end far away from the attractions) and showed us the cab and what everything did and let us sit in the drivers seat...

Well when i worked for SWT, i went in most of the slam door train cabs, aswell as a selection of 455, 458, 442, 170, 158, 159 and class 73 EDL cabs
For NR i have riden in a 'Tramm' of some description
I can drive a 101 DMMU {when the EKR one wants to co-operate 8) }, i've ridden in the cab of most EKR stuff
Outside of work and the EKR. 150, 31, 14, 08, 66, 47
Been in a few steam locos for various reasons

ICM Between Groningen and Assen. And last week on the night train from Amsterdam to Schiphol airport..... Driven yes.... It was me driving the train, loaded with passengers

Mat 64 T and V types on Haarlem - Zandvoort a couple of times. IRM from Utrecht to The Hague.

And a Heritage DE3 in the Harbours of Amsterdam.
