Any indications anywhere as to whether there are likely to be any other 92s moved onto the cars at any point or will it remain as 044?
Latest indications are 044 to come off the cars and 014 to go on - switch probably tomorrow. Maybe.

To be honest with at least 6 66s on rhtt trains at the moment im not surprised they have the flexibility to pull another 92 out of the sleeper pools gbrf seem to have there class 92s operating at a extremely high level of reliability now.

How often is there a Skoda on the beds these days? Is it becoming more rare?
It's about the same as it has been for the past 18 months.
There's 2 or 3 Skodas (currently 2) on-hire - these days to provide cover for the 92s in Brush for CAF mods. Typically on any given night of the five electric diagrams (including the Carstairs/Edinburgh portion) there'll be three or four 92s in use and one or two 90s.

The averages over the past c.18 months (which is a fair reflection of how it is currently too) are:

92s - 72%
90s - 27%
86s/87 - 1%

Exactly five months since its last Class 1 working - and after visiting Loughborough (Brush - CAF mods), Wembley (Alstom) and Crewe IEMD (DB) - 92018 was back out on a main Sleeper run tonight (1S25):

Hot on the heels of 92018, 92023 becomes the second GB Class 92 to visit Crewe Electric TMD for repairs. Was last at the ETD on 21 July 2011, when it was taken away by 47749/47727 (along with 92014) to Dollands Moor (and then Calais).

Round-up:

92006 - Brush (Reinstatement)
92010 - Brush (CAF Mods)
92014 - STVAs (6L48)
92018 - Sleeper (1S26)
92020 - Brush (Reinstatement - reported elsewhere that due out on 8th Nov, however Brush releases are usually postponed a couple of times before they actually happen...)
92023 - Crewe Electric TMD (as above)
92028 - Sleeper (5S96 ECS)
92032 - Dollands Moor (worked 2x Class 802s through from France last night and returning barrier wagons tonight)
92033 - Wembley
92038 - Polmadie
92043 - Craigentinny (for Tyre Turning)
92044 - Sleeper (5C11/1C11)

I shall certainly be keeping an eye out for any moves southbound out of Crewe Electric then. Any indication as to how long 023 is expected to be there for?

As it's gone to Crewe the likelihood is it's not a small job, so I wouldn't expect it out for at least another week or two.

When it's ready, it might also move back south via the 0Z92 / 0Z93 "Skoda swap" paths - these typically show as being from Basford Hall, but can then originate from elsewhere in Crewe when it comes down to it... in short, just keep an eye out for any 0Z92 paths to Wembley.

There's a daily path out of the IEMD at 13:35 - 0A06 - that's the DB path to move locos from the TMD back to Wembley and runs quite often. I'd be a bit surprised if it showed up on that though.

I shall keep me eyes peeled over the next week or so then. I've seen 0A06 a few times and I'm sure it's generally been a 90, in fact it ran today but I didn't get to see what it was. I'd have to agree that it would be surprising to see it use this path and hopefully it doesn't as it wouldn't be possible to be there every time 0A06 passes considering its a well used path.

It's certainly proving handy having some of these 92s heading to Crewe.....takes out a lot of the leg work of tracking them down :E

It was a DB Red combo of 90029 leading 66034 today.

I believe 90029 returned to the IEMD with DB's 92036 this evening - it's having a B Exam, so give that a few days then keep an eye on the 0A06 moves as that will need towing back to Wembley/Dollands - don't often see the DB 92s north of Barking.

There's GB 92s heading to Crewe every night (except Saturday) - just need to be there at silly o'clock!

Can be a very mixed bag at times it quite often contains the dbc 92s heading back and forth from the tunnel to crewe for maintenance also quite often contains class 67s and even 59s and 66s sometimes.

Yes, at least three trundled there in a convoy the other day; and a GB 66 (709); and FL 90s... and bringing this back on topic, 023 is of course there now (although not for flats) - so a cosmopolitan clientele at Crewe Electric these days.

Very much so is crewe helping out till wembley becomes more familiar with the class 92s after the changeover from willesden or has wembley have to much of a workload at the moment maybe.

It's more to do with equipment and what is feasible at each location - e.g. Brush and Crewe are able to do "bigger" jobs than Wembley.

The team who looked after the 92s (and 90s/87/86s) at Willesden (Bombardier) moved with them to Wembley (Alstom) so there's not a knowledge gap at Wembley in that regards.

Skoda?
I'm not too "up" on train-spotter nicknames so this is a genuine query......

Oh & don't be too rude, I own a nice Superb with a tweaked Golf GTi lump under the hood,
'tis a nice beastie to drive & a bit of a sleeper too.....

Cheers, DC

92036 (currently at Crewe; and did work the Sleeper at least once ;)) is showing as NEXT 0A06 on TOPS, so may be on the move south in the next day or two.

Thanks for the heads up. I shall keep any eye on that movement over the coming days
