Hi, I know the Edinburgh and Inverness portions operate as one train at the moment. And I've looked at Real Train times to see what their workings are. But I'm now totally confused as to where they separate.
Although the Inverness portion appears to operate via Edinburgh, the Edinburgh portion isn't shown as separating there and staying in the station but appears to spend 3 and a quarter hours at Beattock Summit. And there doesn't appear to be a common station where the train stops to separate.
Is there anyone more in the know who knows how the operation works at the moment.

The Inverness sleeper detaches coaches at Edinburgh - on RTT it says "Service divides here"

The empty stock then goes across to Polmadie in the normal path at around 0820.

In the opposite direction, the empty stock arrives at 2155

It is joined to the Inverness portion for departure at 0129 - on RTT it says "Service gains coaches here"

I think you were looking at this, which didn't happen this morning

It joins and splits at Waverley.
