On journey check their is a long list of trains cancelled "due to engineering work not being finished on time" and then listed again as additional trains!
;
Perusal of RTT shows they are cancelled as class two.s and running as class one.s - meaning that both the Cambrian and Shrewsbury-Inter sections of the train have the same headcode. Of course pasengers from the Cambrian don't connect into the same numbered train.
;
Can anyone suggest a reason for this weirdness?

I don't know if I'm on the right track or not but it could have been the trains were planned as 2xxx but that later it was realised that there was no need to downgrade from Class 1 to 2 and that they were the normal trains on the Aberystwyth side of Welshpool and on the Birmingham side of Shrewsbury.. .
It is perfectly in order to have more than one train carrying the same headcode on the Network as does even happen on the same route where there is an intense service as long they do not conflict with one another. The train IDs are not in conflicting paths with each other as there is a gap between Shrewsbury and Welshpool. The reason, I guess, about "Engineering Works etc." is just a smokescreen.

Services restarting at Broome ? - that must be a first - presume operating as far as they can with a T3 on (crews by taxi no doubt to / from Salop)

Trains have turned back at Broome on frequent occasions for years now in the event of the Marches Line being blocked at Craven Arms.

Indeed, although if a unit needs to be stabled on the branch overnight it gets stabled at Llandrindod ,and runs ECS to/from Broome as required.

ATW have form for this nonsense of course, and are not alone, regularly having westbound trains shown terminating at Crewe in journey check, with no cross-reference to them restarting at Salop in the train alterations!
;
It would be much better if all TOC.s included part-cancellations under the cancellation heading.
;

And don't get me started on their posters which regularly have different bus arrangements in the timings to what the preamble says!
