On holiday in aberdovey. The sound of a big ol freight movement along the coast at about 2330 last night was impressive. How common is this ? More so in past few years with lots of track rebuilding ? Is there anywhere to check what this was and when there might be another ?

For a biref moment I thought there had been some real , revenue earning freight around.

The FMU trial 10 years ago washed its face commercially but the HGV drivers (all self employed or small independent bands)closed ranks and said they would boycott delivering timber to a terminal on the Cambrian line from the forests of Ceredigion as they wanted to drive (and get paid for) the loads all the way to Kronospan.

The proposed £90 million bypass around Newtown is partly based on complaints about timber carrying lorries driving through the town! Joined up thinking eh?
