    Hi

I am going to get a season ticket from Staines to Canary wharf. If I purchase Staines to London Zone 2-6 season ticket, can I take the following route?

Staines -> London Waterloo (Zone 1) -> Canary wharf (Zone 2)

    Thanks.

No, you can only use the zones you have paid for.

For wholly zonal tickets, the entire journey must take place within the specified zones. This means you could not travel via Zone 1

If you wish to save money by buying the Staines to London Zones 2-6 season, then get a South West Trains service from Staines to Clapham Junction (where you will arrive on platform 3 or 4), then a London Overground service from platform 2 to Canada Water, then onto the eastbound Jubilee Line one stop to Canary Wharf.

There are some journeys that are defined as Not Via Z1, so as long as you do actually have PAYG credit on your Oystercard, you won't be charged any extra or be liable for a penalty fare.

An example would be Fulham Broadway to Uxbridge via Baker Street

Not relevant in this case, as the ticket would not be issued on Oyster.
