Hi all,
I have a wedding to go to near Cark & Cartmel on 23rd of this month. I have a First Advance booked for the journey up, but nothing for the way back (as I didn't know if I'd be getting the train at all).
Now that I definitely am, there are no advance fares available for the train I need (1644 ex-Cark), but that isn't too much of a problem.
My question is that I'd like to go to the North East (specifically Durham) at some point in the next month, so where is the most sensible place to buy an Offpeak RTN from? I was thinking somewhere like Hexham or Haltwhistle, which would allow travel down the WCML via Preston and return up the ECML via Durham. I would then just buy a single from Cark to Preston and an advance single back from Durham for my future trip.
I hope the above is clear and I hold a 16-25 railcard.
Grateful for any advice!
Thanks,
Mark
