When I arrived at Carlisle at 02:00, this is the scene that greeted me
Top'n'tail 37s on a sandite train, a an hour or so before departing like a rocket out of the station! About 15 enthusiasts were present at this crazy hour to witness the event.
At 03:07 the delayed southbound Highlands Caledonian Sleeper arrived, this was delayed probably due to an AirCon fault with the ex-Inverness seated Mk2 (Free berths for some then!
)
60067 was stabled in the sidings at Carlisle overnight before working a freight train in the morning.
60053 takes a frieght train from some sidings north of Carlisle to Dalston just south of Carlisle. This loco shuttled back and forth as the whole train was too big for the terminal.
The first southbound Voyager at Carlisle

Thanks to John and Scott for letting me borrow their tripods (they were asleep some of the time
), I've decided to buy one like John's this week...
