Have just found this picture of Clacton depot - I guess from the seventies. What is the single carriage next to the sheds? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clacton-...le-Soken-and-Colchester-Line-13-/252515514086
and it still exists, being part of the restoration project for the BB.288 (Car No.88) from unit 3051 - Moved from Norwood Yard to Temple Mills 14th October 1972 and on to Clacton 27th October 1972. Moved to Chappel & Wakes Colne 5th July 1975 (now owned by Truman Brewers).
must have been very recently ex service at that point when pic was taken.Driving motor coach from a Brighton Belle EMU (5-BEL)!
Edit: RCTS have it here:
2nd edit: more details here:

It was at Swanage in the 1980s, ISTR an embarrassing moment when the rear steering of the road transport unit failed in Corfe Castle village resulting in some damage to a wall and a slight crease in the carriages bodywork .must have been very recently ex service at that point when pic was taken.
