Just noticed that no trains at Castleford today due to engineering works, replacement buses to Leeds and Normanton (to connect to Sheffield services).

However the hourly Sheffield services from Leeds appear to be calling at Woodlesford then straight through to Normanton and then as normal to Sheffield - but no bus provided for anyone wanting to get to Castleford by the looks! The only way to do it is the Knottingley bus replacement...once every 2 hours!

Surely Northern should be providing a bus to resolve the above? (Or at least allow rail ticket vadility on Arriva for the day!)

There was a rail replacement bus waiting at Normanton to take any onward passengers to Cass this morning.

How strange, looks like you’re correct...apart from the 20:22 which will take you to Normanton but then waiting around until 21:40 for the replacement bus!
