Central Line 1992 Stock misformations

There are currently at least three rakes on the Central Line formed with three driving units and one non driving unit instead of the usual two of each:

92249 + 92311 + 92434 + 92115

92009 + 92341 + 92402 + 92213

92137 + 92xxx + 92193 + 92305

The missing unit number is the result of being bowled!

When i used to hang about Stratford i regularly saw sets in theses formations.

Some 1992 Stock has been running like this for a while now, a few cabs have been permanently consigned to the middle of trains. If you travel in the adjacent coach to the cab and look through the car end windows, you can see the Traction Brake Controller has been gaffer-taped back into the 'off' position permanently (at least on the unit I was on).

There are a few more 92 stock cabs than needed, and as said these are now permanently consigned to the middle - they have had most of the equipment stripped out of them.

I'm guessing units 92311 and 92341 are two of the "permanents" as I've never been able to find them "outer" for a photo - is it known what the others are?

Any particular reason why these units have had their cab fittings removed ?

Is it a similar situation to C stock unit 5555 ?
