Now THIS is interesting! Quoted from Central Trains' website:

16 May 2006

Hereford United Fans get a late train home after the final thanks to Central Trains.

Hereford United Fans don’t need to rush for the train home after the play-off final on Saturday 20th May thanks to Central Trains.

Hereford United fans don’t need to rush for the train home from Leicester after the play-off final on Saturday 20th May.

The latest scheduled train service back to Birmingham that connects with the last train to Hereford departs from Leicester at 19.51. As the play off final has an evening kick off, fans face a rush to get from the Walkers Stadium to Leicester Station before the last train departs.

Central Trains is therefore laying on an extra 460-seat train for Hereford fans that departs from Leicester at 20.30 and then runs non-stop back to Hereford (arriving at 23.00).

The adult return fare will be £23.90.

NON-STOP FROM LEICESTER TO HEREFORD!!! GITS! RUDE! DAMN IT!

Any ideas on the traction to be used? Anyone interested in going to see it?

What about the Valenta engines that are being fitted to 170's, with their MTU engines being donated to HST's ;) Now Valenta engined 170's would be beastly... until then...erm no.

can't see it being anything but a 170 combo.

will it take the normal route as well?? just in terms of guards/drivers route knowledge.

I would imagine it will run as follows: Leicester-Nuneaton-Water Orton-Camp Hill-Kings Norton-Lickey-Worcester (avoiding Shrub Hill)-Hereford.
